Welcome to ChuckWarnock.net! After serving Chatham Baptist Church in Virginia for almost 20-years, Debbie and I now live in Simpsonville, SC, where we are happily retired. But retirement doesn't mean we're not busy.

Writing: Mine, always free, no politics or other downers 

Writing keeps me off the streets. I post a weekly devotional early on Fridays based on the Bible passages for that week in the Christian Year. The posts are short, to the point, and are designed to provide help and hope. No politics, no ranting, no negativity -- just a bit of inspiration to get you through the week.

I write my own stuff. I use AI (Claude and Gemini) for organizing, researching and illustrating posts, but don't blame my writing on them. Theirs sounds better, but mine is imperfectly human. 

What I write is always free -- always has been, always will be. I will never ask you to pay for a subscription. Promise.

Some of the stuff I've done

For those who don't know me, I served as a pastor for over 30 years. My education includes a BA from Mercer University/Atlanta; MDiv from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary; and, DMin from Fuller Theological Seminary. 

I've written for Outreach magazine, Sermon Central, Leadership magazine, and other online and print publications. My DMin dissertation is The Reconciling Community -- the story of our church in Chatham, Virginia as we brought the community together with projects, meetings, and fellowship across racial lines.
